Har Zion Temple Welcomes You and We Appreciate Your Support

Har Zion Temple was founded by residents in the Wynnefield neighborhood of Philadelphia almost 100 years ago. In 1976, we opened the doors to our Penn Valley location. Today, over 700 families support us through annual membership, and we strive daily to build community and make what we do meaningful, inspiring and accessible to our congregants, all within the framework of an egalitarian, Conservative synagogue.

Our size and the support of our membership gives us the ability to offer a diversity of services and warm community embrace during every step of our congregants’ journey to a meaningful Jewish life. Our congregants are encouraged to develop and enjoy spiritual and inclusive communities both within our walls and in the greater Jewish community.

Your annual support helps Har Zion provide:

Twice-daily minyanim and weekly Shabbat worship services
High Holiday services – with the option to reserve seating if desired
Remote (on-line) access for worship services for those unable to attend in-person
Special age-appropriate worship services for children and teens
The services of our clergy for life cycle events and counseling
The Noreen Cook Center for Early Childhood Education and Day Camp, both with discounted tuition rates for members’ children
Jane Fishman Grinberg Religious School for children of members
LMAHH and our Madregot Program for children with diverse learning needs
Our new Gesher program for B’nai Mitzvah of children of members
The use of our facility, large kosher kitchen and updated auditoriums for weddings, B’nai Mitzvah, other simchas (celebrations) and funerals
Accessible entrances, the use of the Cozen Bimah Access Lift, the Sall Hearing Aid System in the Main Sanctuary and large print prayer books
Community and social groups such as Sisterhood, Men’s Club, HSA and Inclusivity Committee
