One benefit of membership at Har Zion is enrolling your child in the Jane Fishman Grinberg Religious School (JFGRS). In our school we nurture excellence in learning and strive to inspire a love of Jewish living and learning that will last a lifetime. at Har Zion and in JFGRS we are firmly committed to all children being included in the Jewish learning that is a cornerstone of our tradition. Our Madregot inclusion program is one that makes us very proud. We make sure that a wide range of students with learning needs are capable of participating fully in all of our educational endeavors.
In our Elementary School we provide formal, informal and experiential opportunities for students from Kindergarten through fourth grade to explore their rich Jewish heritage. There is a strong focus on reading readiness in Hebrew, learning about the holidays of our annual calendar, Jewish values we all share, and the Torah which serves as our guidebook for all of the above. Beyond the books we also round out our children’s time with us by offering electives in music, dance, art, drama, cooking and more.
Our Middle School, grades 5-7, continues to build on the foundations that have been set in the elementary years but with a focus on the skill development that each child will need as they mature and take their place among the Jewish people in synagogue. Parallel to the skills track is a project-based learning system that allows students to direct a significant portion of their studies under the guidance of our advisor teachers.
At Har Zion we are blessed with visionary families who support Jewish learning and the arts. To that end we have created the Abiri Ritual Arts program which affords us the opportunity to create a significant work of Jewish ritual art with each student each year they are enrolled in our school.
We have also integrated the Bar/Bat Mitzvah training program wherever possible. For 8th-12th grades we participate in the regional Hebrew High school – LMAHH.
