Three Hidden Gems in Jewish Philadelphia

Lifelong Learning is planning to take an Adult Education trip to Center City, Philadelphia. The trip includes visits to The Eastern State Penitentiary, The Rosenbach Museum, and Mikveh Israel.

Archives dating from before the American Revolution, the 19th century home of Jewish book collectors with a treasure of rare editions and manuscripts, and a restored synagogue in, of all places, a prison.  We will spend the day exploring these hidden gems and talk about more of what makes Philadelphia unique among American Jewish communities.
