Choosing The Noreen Cook Center for Early Childhood Education of Har Zion Temple, including The Rose & Joseph Schimmel Preschool and Har Zion Kindergarten is an important step in your child's life. Our outstanding pre-school program is housed in a state of the art educational facility, staffed with mature, dedicated, caring teachers.
Every day, children enter the classroom with smiles and laughter, filled with Jewish and secular learning opportunities that feel more like fun. A variety of classes is offered, as well as Early Care and Late Care that accommodate the needs of working parents. In addition, our school regularly schedules Creative Movement, Hebrew, Music, Science, Gymnastics, weekly Shabbat and Havdalah Services and Jewish holiday celebrations.
We believe in a flexible curriculum tailored to the needs and interests of each group of children. Our staff of early childhood educators is dedicated to motivating and encouraging every child. Individualized guidance allows each child to reach his or her fullest potential cognitively, socially, physically, creatively and spiritually. We understand that children's work is children's play. The enriched environment of our preschool maximizes each child's opportunity to explore, discover, and learn through play with materials that are challenging and stimulating. We wish to transmit the wonders of the Torah and Mitzvot to the next generation in an environment that fosters excellence in both Jewish and secular education. As a result, children learn to love being Jewish and to feel comfortable in the Temple and with Jewish rituals.
My association at Har Zion Temple for over 26 years as parent, congregant, teacher, and Director of both the Day Camp and Preschool, has made the Har Zion Community my home away from home. I hope to instill this feeling of home and belonging in every family who enters our doors.
