About Har Zion

Har Zion Temple is nestled in the suburban Philadelphia community of Penn Valley, Pennsylvania. Our synagogue is an energetic and welcoming congregation with over 1100 members. In our more than 80-year history, we pride ourselves on being friendly, diverse and innovative. Our membership and state-of-the-art facilities enable us to provide quality spiritual, educational, social and service-related programs.

Har Zion has outstanding, enthusiastic clergy and professional staff who lead our congregation in all aspects of synagogue life. We are nationally recognized leaders in the Conservative Movement.

Education

Our synagogue offers educational programs for all ages and interest groups. Our youngest children attend The Noreen Cook Center for Early Childhood Education. The Jane Fishman Grinberg Religious School provides a top-notch Jewish education to our elementary, middle and high school divisions. The A.M. Ellis Midrasha affords students the opportunity to "learn to teach" and our graduates become certified Religious School teachers. Madregot is our program for children with special needs and Har Zion is the only synagogue on the Main Line to offer this type of program.

During the summer, children ages 2-6 play, swim, and learn at our full service day camp. We offer excellent facilities featuring an in-ground pool and swimming lessons. Adult Education is a hallmark of Har Zion, supported by our Fishman Institute of Adult Jewish Studies.
